Profile

With offices in Milan and on Lake Como, I practice international business and private law. My work focuses in particular on corporate and commercial law, real estate law, and estate law – always with a cross-border dimension and in light of the European legal framework. The practice is not limited to the application of national rules, but rather situated within a complex interplay of domestic law, European Union law, and private international law.

As a member of the Cologne Bar and, at the same time, an avvocato stabilito registered with the Milan Bar Association, I hold dual qualifications that enable me to advise and represent clients seamlessly in both legal systems. Services are provided in German, Italian, and English, overcoming both legal and linguistic barriers and ensuring consistent support.

A particular focus of my practice lies in handling complex transactions and legal issues at the interface between Germany and Italy. Here, not only legal precision and deep systemic knowledge matter, but also an understanding of cultural contexts, economic conditions, and European integration processes. My approach therefore combines legal expertise with intercultural insight and a clear strategic orientation, aimed at developing solutions that are both legally sound and practically effective.

Beyond the purely legal dimension, I see my role as that of a bridge-builder between jurisdictions, cultures, and markets. Cross-border matters require more than technical proficiency; they demand sensitivity to the nuances of different legal traditions, awareness of business practices shaped by national contexts, and the ability to foster dialogue between diverse stakeholders. Drawing on my professional background and long-standing ties to both Germany and Italy, I seek to provide clients with not only rigorous legal guidance, but also a framework of trust and understanding that enables sustainable outcomes in an increasingly interconnected Europe.

Curriculum Vitae

I was born on October 20, 1987, in Bonn, where I also grew up. After graduating from the Beethoven Gymnasium in Bonn and completing alternative civilian service, I began my legal studies at Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi in Milan, later continuing at Heidelberg University.

During my studies abroad, I developed an early focus on international private and procedural law, with particular emphasis on the intersection of German and Italian law.

I completed my studies in Heidelberg in June 2014 with the First State Examination in Law for the State of Baden-Württemberg.

At the outset of my legal clerkship (Referendariat) at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, I was first assigned to the Regional Court of Bonn, where my focus lay on private construction law and general civil law. In parallel, and until 2017, I worked as a research associate at the Cologne law firm Jürgens & Jürgens, with a particular emphasis on construction and contract law mandates.

During my placement at the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bonn, I concentrated on white-collar crime and narcotics offences, thereby deepening my understanding of criminal procedure and its practical challenges.

In the course of my assignment at the Federal Office of Justice, I dealt with international custody disputes – an area that further sharpened my interest in cross-border family law matters.

A formative stage of my training was the attorney and elective placement at Dolce Lauda Rechtsanwälte Avvocati in Frankfurt am Main – one of the leading German-Italian law firms. There, I primarily worked in civil and business law as well as in international tort litigation, substantially expanding my experience in transnational legal advisory work.

In May 2019, I successfully completed my training with the Second State Examination in Law for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Legal Practice

Since August 2019, I have been admitted to the Cologne Bar; in October of the same year, I was also registered as an avvocato stabilito with the Milan Bar Association.

Since June 2018, I have been working in close cooperation with the Milan law firm Bordiga Xerri. My practice covers advice and representation in both legal systems – German and Italian – with a focus on general civil law, inheritance and corporate law, as well as international commercial law. In addition, I head the firm’s German/International Desk, with particular responsibility for cross-border matters and German-speaking clients.

The firm Bordiga Xerri is a member of the German-Italian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Italy). I am also a member of Villa Vigoni e.V., the Cologne Bar Association, DAV Italy, the German-Italian Lawyers’ Association, and the Young Lawyers’ Forum of the German Bar Association. These networks not only enable continuous professional exchange but also foster the deepening of the German-Italian dialogue in law, academia, and politics.

Academic Activities

Legal Studies

Legal Clerkship

I am the author and co-author of legal publications in Germany and Italy and regularly speak at professional conferences. In addition, I prepare expert legal opinions and selected specialist translations, particularly in the context of German-Italian legal relations.

I also serve regularly as a visiting scholar at the Institute for Foreign and International Private and Business Law at Heidelberg University, with which I have maintained a close connection since my studies.

The close ties between Germany and Italy are reflected in a wide range of personal, cultural, academic, and economic contexts. The legal advice I place at the center of my work is only one of the many expressions of this essential European relationship.

Within the framework of an ever-deepening process of European integration, numerous advisory fields arise from German-Italian interconnections as well as from cross-border entrepreneurial activity. Such advisory work requires not only an in-depth knowledge of both legal systems and of European and transnational law, but also a keen sensitivity to the respective social and cultural contexts.

Owing to my personal background, I have long been able to build – and strengthen – bridges between the two countries and within Europe. My roots in both the Rhineland and Lombardy, a broad professional network in Germany, Italy, and other European jurisdictions, as well as many years of legal expertise form the foundation of my professional practice.

For several years, I have been actively engaged in the transnational dialogue. Through my work I not only promote economic and academic exchange, but also contribute to the creation of mutual trust, reciprocal respect, and – not least – new partnerships at the European level. My commitment consciously transcends the scope of professional routine: it is an expression of a lived European spirit.
